What we do
GreenH is a Norwegian company that develops infrastructure for the production and distribution of green hydrogen from renewable energy. The company is engaged in projects aimed at building, owning and operating hydrogen production facilities for the maritime sector, transport and industry. The company will establish a network of hubs for hydrogen production, located as close as possible to the end users. This will result in reduced transport costs, and reduced CO2 emissions both during production, transport and use.
Why hydrogen is the future
We require a change of pace if we are going to avoid greenhouse gas effects that have large environmental consequences. Switching from fossil fuels to alternative energy sources is happening, but not quickly enough. DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook report from 2021 concludes that despite having the necessary technology, we will not reach the climate goals of the Paris Agreement with our current action.
Just in Norway, land transport emits more than 2 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent every year. Hydrogen offers an alternative that could cut these emissions to almost zero. That is why we say that hydrogen is the future.
